Why is blogging beneficial for students?

A blog is an online space where people can share their thoughts and ideas. Blogs can connect people. It can connect students with other students who share the same interests or subjects.  Blogs can serve as a journal or portfolio for students to reflect on their progress throughout the course or school year. A blog can also also serve as a communication tool between the teachers and students. Some students who may not feel comfortable sharing ideas, thoughts, opinions or questions in the classroom, may feel more comfortable contributing to a blog.  A blog is a fun and interesting way to improve students' writing skills.

We all Scream for Ice Cream!

After reading Cocoa Ice last week, we were very excited to make our own ice cream today! It was a little cold and messy, but it worked! Here are a few pictures from our activity. Ask your child what flavor they chose and how they made it.

OAA is here!!! Reading Test Tuesday!

The OAA has arrived!Tomorrow we will be taking the Reading OAA  and Thursday is the Math OAA.

Please make an effort to have your child at school for breakfast. This will ensure a full belly and that they will be at school in plenty of time for the test. The students who are here for breakfast and on time to take the test will also be entered into a special drawing to throw a pie at Mrs. Maddex. What an awesome principal for offering that as an incentive!

I also instructed the students to be in bed early and get plenty of rest tonight! :-) (You can thank us later...hee hee!)

The students have worked so hard this year. They are all such great students and will do terrific tomorrow! Thanks again for all of your help and support!
